Poker Blind Structure for 6, 8, or 10 Players

A reliable starting sequence

A useful first sequence is 25/50, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, 300/600, and 400/800. Add a break after level four or five, depending on the target duration.

• 6 players: 15-minute levels; fewer chips are in play, so the event can finish sooner
• 8 players: 18-minute levels for a balanced 3-hour target
• 10 players: 20-minute early levels, then 15 minutes later if you need a firm finish

Match the starting stack to the first level

If blinds start at 25/50, a 5,000 stack equals 100 big blinds. A 10,000 stack is 200 big blinds and will usually require either longer play or faster increases later.

Choose the finish time first, then adjust stack depth. Adding chips without adjusting the structure makes the event run longer.

Keep increases smooth

Blind jumps around 25% to 50% are easier to play than repeated 100% jumps. The structure can accelerate after the break, but players should be able to anticipate the change from the displayed next level.
