How many chips do I need for a poker tournament?
Multiply the starting stack by the number of players to get the required chip value, then add a small physical-chip reserve for rebuys, color-ups, or late entries.
Does total chip value equal the number of physical chips?
No. Chip value is the sum of denominations. The physical chip count depends on how that value is split across colors and denominations.
